Confused in turn, Evan sits back and stares at Mel. There's a lot to unpack there, which is interrupted by the way Mel suddenly notices the mattress he's sitting on. He pulls his socked feet up onto his own bed and leans forward to peer at the elf, who seems to be so enjoying himself.
"Welcome to dorm living, I suppose," he offers. Were the mattresses at Oska worse? Two years out and he can't recall specifically, but they must have been. It's the less pressing question, though, and Evan has a growing suspicion. A little nervously, he laces his fingers in his lap, frowning earnestly across at the flopped elf. "Mel, how long has it been since I went home? I mean, from your perspective?"
