"I can think of a couple of reasons," Meallan admits slowly, and as he catches the look on Evan's face, he can guess at least one of them has occurred to the other man as well. It's likely the more concerning one to him, which is probably a good thing; Meallan doesn't see reason to drag out every possible reason just yet, so as Evan focuses on the phone he nods and stands as well, deciding to distract himself with investigating while Evan makes his call.
He can guess that the bed and desk likely belong to the other person staying there, and while he largely tries to keep his hands to himself, Meallan can't help but take a look at the posters on the walls and open the closet to poke his head inside, slowly moving his way to the other door that hadn't opened onto the hallway.
