"All right..." Meallan says, more because he feels he should agree than any real understanding of what Evan is talking about. The shapes are different but he's not really certain how that matters; it hadn't with the jewellery after all.
Then Evan sets it down again and he frowns at the device in confusion and then glances back at the younger man as he realises why he's paused.
"I didn't? I just saw a lot of people and when I realised that there was food there as well, it seemed like a good place to get information. I didn't know where I was until I saw you there."
He gives a shrug and a small laugh. "I actually wondered if ALASTAIR had lied and said they were sending me back but I'd been put to another world for a mission instead."
